Tierra Whack has a nonchalant approach to fashion. The singer, who is releasing her new album WORLD WIDE WHACK on March 15, says her standout style was something that happened by chance. “I just have fun,” she explained to Teen Vogue in a recent phone call.
The reason we are discussing her clothing is because she intends to share the amazing stories her closet tells, quite literally. Starting February 22, fans can rent a piece of Whack’s personal closet through subscription rental service Nuuly. The Tierra Whack X Nuuly collection includes 41 pieces that subscribers can rent 6 items for $98 a month. You can get everything from a Charles Loverboy jumper she wore at Coachella in 2019 to a custom design by LA Roxx to an upcycled Levi’s dress designed by Aunt Tot.
Whack explained, “I’m always wearing clothes and giving them back because it’ll be really extravagant pieces that are so cool but I can’t afford,” she continued, “So that’s just me being real. I think people admire my clothing and things I wear, so I’m just like, why not do it for more people, for the fans.”
In a recent interview, Whack spoke with Teen Vogue about thrifting, the new collection, and the release of her highly anticipated new album.
Whack expressed that every piece in the Nuuly collection is special to her and has significance, just like choosing a favorite among children. She also shared a story about a recent thrift store visit and the strange feeling she experienced when examining a cool coat.
Whack’s partnership with Nuuly has brought her immense joy, and she’s excited to see her fans rocking the pieces in their own way. She emphasizes the individual interpretation and expression of her statement pieces, which is the beauty of fashion as per her view.
Moreover, the connection with Nuuly is even cooler as both Whack and Nuuly are from Philadelphia. As for Philly style, she lauds its uniqueness and the personal touch everyone puts on their fashion.
